De’Danann Glassworks Trail site #4: Artist – Patricia Brennan (23 Spyder Mountain Lane, Sperryville, Va 22740)
Second Saturday Workshop ~ “Make a Stepping Stone” for your garden – Join a fun class learning how to make stepping stone bricks for your garden. Students will use stained glass pieces to create patterns to place in a stepping stone molds. Saturday we will place the glass and pour the cement. On Sunday afternoon we will meet again to take the stones out of the mold, top dress them and take them home. Fee $30.00 – includes all materials. Time: 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Gadino Cellars Trail Site # 56 (92 School House Road, Washington, VA 22747)
“Gadino Olive Oil Tasting” Taste the Family’s Italian olive oil from Sicily along with 7 beautiful wines at Gadino Cellars. Enjoy a complimentary Sicilain olive oil tasting during your visit at Gadino Cellars winery on May 13th “Second Saturday” event. Wine tasting $8, olive oil tasting complimentary. Time: 11:30 – 6:00.
Gray Ghost Winery Trail Site # 58 – (4706 Lee Highway, Amissville, VA 20106)
Two days of Live Music at Gray Ghost! Live music featuring Valerie Von Fange at Gray Ghost Vineyards! In case you are not able to join us on Mother’s Day, we are starting the festivities a day early! Treat your Mom to a relaxing afternoon with live music at Gray Ghost! Wine tastings only $5 per person. Saturday, May 13, 2017. Time: 2:00pm – 4:00pm
On Mother’s Day at Gray Ghost Vineyards celebrate Mom with a day filled with fun! Enjoy free wine tastings for Mom and her guests, winery tours and live music in the afternoon! Old Rag Gallery in RDA at Ginger Hill Trail Site # 46 (12625 Lee Highway, Washington, Va 22747)
“Photo Copies of Your Art” Second Saturday at Old Rag Gallery: Old Rag photographers, Ray Boc, Joyce Harman and Bette Hileman will be set up in our space in RDA at Ginger Hill to photograph flat art for anyone who needs quality copies of their work appropriate for promotions, show, grant applications or personal records. There will be a small charge of $15.00 for one piece, or $40.00 for three pieces. You will receive a copy of the raw file plus a cropped, sized and corrected file for each piece photographed. May 13 from noon till four.
Rappahannock Cellars Trail Site # 63: (14437 Hume Rd, Huntly, VA 22640
Experience the latest release of our popular Vx2 white wine! The 2015 has been sold out for some time now, and we’re excited to finally allow the 2016 vintage to debut – join us to taste and celebrate! River District Potters Trail Site # 32 (7 River Lane, Studio 7B, Sperryville, VA 22740)
River District Potters “Open Studio”. Potters will be working in their studio and will be available to answer questions. They invite visitors to come visit them at the new studio location.
Spirit Trail Fiberworks at Blue Ridge Artisans Trail Site # 106: Artist – Jennifer Heverly (12018 B Lee Highway, Sperryville, VA 22740)
“Second Saturday Fair Isle Knitting” Join us for a free class to learn the basic techniques of fair isle (two color) knitting! Have you ever wanted to knit a stranded colorwork project but were afraid to try? Or knitted one and found your finished project was not what you’d hoped? Join us in our studio for a fair isle techniques workshop, where you’ll learn tips and tricks to knit successful stranded color-work projects. This class is for Advanced Beginner knitters. The ability to cast on and cast off, knit, purl, work in the round, and comfortably tension yarn with at least one hand is a must.
Class fee does not include materials. Fingering or DK weight yarn is recommended in two contrasting colors. Yarn will be available for purchase for those interested in using our yarns, but students must bring knitting needles suitable for fingering or DK weight yarns to class as we do not sell knitting needles or other tools in the shop. Reservations are preferred; please email us at email@example.com to reserve your Fair Isle Workshop spot! The Spirit Trail Fiberworks gallery and shop will also be open to the general public for Second Saturday, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.or a free class to learn the basic techniques of fair isle (two color) knitting!
