Belle Grove Plantation Open for Touring Coming to the Top of Virginia Trail for First Saturday fun? Belle Grove is open 10am-4-pm & the Museum Shop has artisan and local items for sale too!  No cost to visit Museum Shop; House Tours $12, 10 am – 4 pm





Center Ring Design – Trail Site #1  (325 S Church St Berryville, VA 22611)

1st Saturday Open Door Tour Each first Saturday we hold an Open Door Tour from 11-4. We bring you a sale or demonstration or have goodies to share. As the days get warmer, plan to bring a lunch and join us – we’ll be sure to have tea and lemonade. Watch our website and FB Page for details for each month. Free, 11 am – 4 pm

Liam Harrison’s Art of Center Ring Design @ Cordial Coffee – Trail Site #43 (8 S Church St Berryville, VA 22611) Liam Harrison is an up and coming illustration artist on his way to VCU Arts in the fall. He is one of a family of three artists with their studio in Berryville. This month, he has partnered with another trail member, Cordial Coffee to display his work on their walls. All pieces are for sale. Stop in for wonderful beverages and the best waffles served all day. No Cover, 8 am – 6 pm


Fire House Gallery and Shop – Trail Site #15 (23 E Main St Berryville, VA 22611)

Open Door Reception The Firehouse Gallery is a local non-profit gallery that showcases the work of many local artists for the Clarke County and Shenandoah Gallery area. Please join us for refreshments and possible demonstrations or workshops! Free, 11 am – 4 pm





Handworks Gallery – Trail Site #17 (150 N Loudoun Street Winchester, VA 22601)

Handworks Open Studio Handworks Gallery will always be open for the Open Door Tour! Come see all the best artists the local area has to offer! Local pottery, woodworking, jewelry, and sculpture. Free, 10 am – 7 pm



Julie Read – Trail Site #7 (BEHIND 222 S Loudoun ST, Winchester, VA 22601)

First Saturdays Open Studio Come see Claudia Giannini & Julie Read demonstrating their painting techniques & teaching videos. Claudia Giannini’s work combines photographic and printmaking techniques with painting and collage to create images that explore our connection to the natural world. Julie Read teaches watercolor classes using live streaming and video. She paints Virginia landscapes as well as abstracts. Free, 10 am – 4 pm


Lightning Bug Hollow Studios, Heather Scott – Trail Site #5 (722 Academy Cir Winchester, VA 22601)

Open Door Tour Lightning Bug Hollow Studios is a pottery and painting studio near downtown Winchester and is proud to be a part of the Top of Va Artisans Trail Open Studio Tour. Please stop in and visit with us. I will be demonstrating throwing pottery on the wheel and would love to meet you. I will have pottery and paintings for viewing and sale. Light refreshments will be served. Free, 11 am – 4 pm


Modern Mercantile – Trail Site #19 (13 S Church St Berryville, VA 22611)

Open Door Tour featuring Christy Dunkle Jewelry Christy Dunkle will be our featured artist for this Open Door Tour. She will be here demonstrating and creating earrings from her new geometric jewelry collection. You’ll have a chance to see her at work and customize your own pair of earrings. Cost: $30 per pair of earrings, 11 am – 2 pm




Patsy Cline Historic House – Trail Site #70 (608 S Kent St Winchester, VA 22601)

Patsy Cline Historic House Opens for Season Patsy Cline lived in this house longer than any other associated with her. Learn how she became Patsy Cline. Born Virginia Patterson Hensley in Winchester, Virginia, Patsy Cline—known by her friends and family as “Ginny”—moved numerous times before she was 15 years old. She lived in this house longer than any other in her lifetime.
Patsy’s big break came when she won an Arthur Godfrey Talent program in 1957 with the hit Walkin’ After Midnight. From there she pursued a recording career appearing at the mecca of country music – the Grand Ole Opry in 1958, and received national awards in 1961 and 1962. Tour introduces a young Ginny Hensley and shares how she became Patsy Cline. $8 adults; $6 65-older, 10 am – 4 pm


PH Miller Studio, Frame-Makers – Trail Site #10 (1 E. Main St Berryville, VA 22611)

Open Door Tour In celebration of first Saturdays on the Top of Virginia Artisan trail, stop by the Studio to watch free gilding demos and refreshments. Plan on stopping by the studio to see works in process, frame making, gilding and the wood working products of 6 woodturners, 1 furniture maker and 1 wood sculptor all from Northern Virginia. Free, 10 am – 5:30 pm


Nancy Polo’s La Capretta Gallery on Smithfield Farm – Trail Site #57 (568 Smithfield Lane Berryville, VA 22611)

Open Studio at Nancy Polo’s La Capretta Gallery on Smithfield Farm Come visit me at Smithfield Farm in Berryville, VA. My studio is open on the first Saturday of every month beginning in March as part of the monthly Clarke County Open Studio Tour. I paint in acrylics and watercolor on wooden panels and paper. I will be working toward making paintings and drawings for a large exhibit to be held at the Barns of Rose Hill in Berryville, VA from July 27-August 27. While you are here, take a walking tour of our farm, home to Smithfield Farm Bed & Breakfast and Smith Meadows Grass-Fed Meats. We have a lovely two-mile birding trail that winds through the pastures, allowing you to see our farm animals and local wildlife. Free, 10 am – 3 pm

Winchester Little Theatre – Trail Site #80 (315 West Boscawen Street Winchester, VA 22601)

WLT Behind the Scenes Tour Stop by the Winchester Little Theatre on Saturday, April 7th from 1030am to 2pm as we open our doors as a part of the Top of Virginia Artisan Trail Open Studios Tour! Check out what goes into the plays you see on stage, behind-the-scenes, as you catch a glimpse of one of our volunteer-driven work days! You’ll likely see set-building, scene painting, prop-making, and more! We are preparing for the upcoming show: The Explorers Club, which will end our regular season of shows for 2017-2018. The show dates are May 11-26, so be sure to come back to see the final product! Free, 10:30 am – 2 pm
