Leave the dogs and cats at home and indulge in a day of art and entertainment before school starts up again. Rappahannock County Artisan Trail members are featuring art classes, gallery exhibitions and entertainment for your enjoyment, and there are always wonderful lodging opportunities and culinary delights for you as well. Welcome to a day – or a weekend – of artful pleasure on the Trail!

Art Soiree. Drown in the glorious depths of sight, sound and taste as CatBoneFace plays an acoustic set of Hendrix, Dylan, Mathews, The Who, Etc., while surrounded by thirteen of his original, bold, beautiful and grand scale oil abstracts currently exhibited on our walls! Meet this artist of many talents and check out his expressive paintings, a must see for all who appreciate art! There will be mouthwatering hors d’oeuvre, soul-warming wines and all while having your senses electrified in an atmosphere of bounty, feast and friends. Open at 8 a.m. Reception from 5-7 p.m.
De’Danann Glassworks – 23 Spyder Mountain, Sperryville, VA 22740
Mosaic for Beginners. Students learn the process of making a glass mosaic using stained glass as a medium. You will create the artwork and then grout it. This process will give you a working knowledge of how mosaics are made.

Hot Music. Linda Heimstra and Bob Williams of the “Nethers Hot Club Band” are terrific! They will bring their jazz, blues and Latin tunes from the 30s, 40s and beyond to our tasting room from 2 – 5:30 pm. No cover charge. Open 11:30 am – 6 pm.

Vinyl Tracks. Wear your dancing shoes for this group’s performance from 8 to 11 pm. Classic Rock at its finest! Come for dinner and enjoy dishes prepared with love and fresh local produce! Since it’s Art Appreciation Month, it’s a good time to check out the photography art for sale exhibited in galleries upstairs and down. Open from 11:30 am.

Nantucket Baskets. Accomplished basket-weaver John Bauer will demonstrate his skills throughout the day and relate the origin of the Nantucket Basket. Come meet John and enjoy his stories about the history of basket-weaving. Open 10 am. – 5 pm.

Acoustic Soul. We are excited to welcome back acoustic guitar and vocal duo, Steven Shaffer and Bruce Turner to our tasting room! From 2 to 5, Acoustic Soul will play a wide selection of classic rock, rhythm and blues. Steven and Bruce are great entertainers who enjoy engaging with the audience. Sit outside and enjoy the view of grapes ripening while you enjoy a tasting! Open 11:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Winter Landscapes. This weekend is your last chance to catch Kate Anderson’s “Winter Landscapes” oil paintings. Come in and cool off with scenes of snow and wintery skies. This is definitely art to appreciate! Open Fri-Sun 10 am – 5 pm. Free.

Kathy Davis & Bradley Bishop team up to present a musical experience that is exciting, entertaining, and offers something for everyone! The innovative duo draws from bluegrass, old time, and swing influences to create a magical performance. 2 – 5 pm
Our Tasting Room offers Wine and Chocolate and Vineyard Picnic pairings as well as three different tasting flights that allow guests to zero in on wines they know they will love while exploring less familiar ones. Open from 11 am – 7 pm.

Art in the Garden. Potter Sara Adams will instruct you in creating a colorful ceramic marker for your vegetable or flower garden or potted plant. Art class available between 11 am – 4 pm. Village Market. If you’ve always wanted to sample something from The Inn, here’s a chance to taste their pulled pork BBQ! Shop for items for Sunday breakfast like delicious gourmet sausages, jams, pickles, preserves and baked goods. Celebrate Art Appreciation Month as you browse the offerings of many local artisans. A portion of the proceeds from sales of Inn items is donated to the Rappahannock Food Pantry. 10 am. – 2 pm.
