Valentine Workshop. Create Valentines for someone you love. Make two to four cards, depending on your speed. There will be a wide array of materials to choose from, but If you have something special you’d like to use in your cards, bring it.  $10.00 covers all supplies needed. Valentines for the Ages.  Create a lasting valentine by making a charming beveled glass heart sun catcher and ornament with the guidance of stained glass artist Patricia Brennan.  In this workshop  learn the process of copper foiling a pre-cut beveled heart. You will solder the piece together, to create a sparkling heart that can be enjoyed for years to come.  Class limit is 6 students. Cost $28.00. Time 10 am – noon.

Handmade Love. “I love the mountain heritage of a hand made chair, I love to paint chairs, and I love creating rugs that bring out the character of our animals or the beauty of our trees.” So says Sally Mello who will discuss the origin of heritage crafts and have many fine examples on display.  She will demonstrate how to splint bottom a chair, a nearly lost art from the Blue Ridge Mountains. From 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Kevin Adams  – 337A Gay St., Washington, VA 22747

Heart to Heart.  Indulge your senses in this new exhibition with clay work by Catherine White and Warren Frederick, encaustic paintings by Giselle Gautreau and new work by Kevin H. Adams, known near and far for his Virginia landscapes.  This is also your opportunity to engage in heart-to-heart discussions with the artists at a reception from 4 to 7 pm.  It all takes place at Gay Street Gallery, next door to Adams’ studio.

Wine and Song. Bring your sweetheart and celebrate Valentine’s Day a little early at Magnolia Vineyards! We will be featuring live music with popular local musician Leon Rector. Leon is an acoustic singer-songwriter performing both original music and covers. Influenced by the likes of Jack Johnson and Johnny Cash, Leon plays a spectrum of tunes including the Beatles, the Doors, Elvis, Jim Croce, and, of course, Johnny Cash! As always, tastings include a chocolate and cheese pairing!  Music 2 – 5 pm.  Wine you will LOVE, all day!

Fused Glass HeART.  Create your own beautiful glass sun catcher.  You will be provided a 4” clear glass circle or heart-shaped base and small bits of colored glass that have been pre-cut for you to arrange mosaic style. Patterns are available or you may choose your own freestyle approach.
