We have the remedy to this winter affliction – a visit to member sites on the Rappahannock County Artisan Trail!  March, the month of lions and lambs,  you’ll find special treats to nourish body and soul.  Soak up the beauty of our rolling hills and mountains as you enjoy wine, workshops, fine food and more.

Sperryville History. Cabin fever is raging and we want to help!  Here’s a good reason to get out of the house and into a place where you can see old friends and make new ones! Join us at 7:00 pm for a discussion of Sperryville History led by the Rappahannock Historic Society and enjoy our selection of Virginia wines.

 

 

 

De’Danann Glassworks – 23 Spyder Mountain, Sperryville, VA  22740

March is for Mosaics, a fun way to learn how to work with glass. Spend a day in the studio creating an 8” x 8” mosaic panel.  Learn how to cut glass, adhere it to the panel and grout a finished piece. It’s a fun activity for all ages. ​Let the spinning wheel spin.  Potter Michele Soderman will be demonstrating techniques for creating wheel built and hand built pottery.  Enjoy visiting Michele’s studio filled with gorgeous pottery and try your own hand at giving the wheel a spin under her supervision. 12 – 3 pm.

 

 

 

Kevin Adams  – 337A Gay St., Washington, VA 22747

Adams is joined by Catherine White, Gisselle Gautreau and Warren Frederick in an exhibition of encaustic and oil paintings and clay work that continues at Gay Street Gallery through March 19.  Drop in while there’s still time to view works by these acclaimed artists.  Gay Street is adjacent to the Kevin H. Three Visions.  Enjoy art inspired by our natural environment during a March “Cabin Fever Breakout!”  Katrina Ann Marcey’s oil paintings, Jane Forth’s encaustic paintings and Marilyn Hayes’ encaustic monotypes all capture the beauty of the Natural Landscapes of the Shenandoah Valley, but in ways that differ in perspective, intensity and style and invite the viewer to compare and contrast the interpretations. Warmglass Designs – 12625 Lee Hwy. at Hazel River Arts & Antiques

Make your own fused glass Shamrock in a class with artist Jennifer Webb. Each person will get a 4” clear base and choose from an assortment of colored glass pieces to create your own design.  Workshop 11 – 2 pm  $25 fee covers all materials needed.  All projects will be fired off site (in kilns in my home studio) and returned to Hazel River by the following Thursday.
